About Me

Have you ever been blessed to unexpectedly discover something that you love to do and, better yet, learn that you feel passionate about doing?

My name is Cigdem Coyle and I have a passion for working with people to resolve their problems. I feel privileged to have such a gift.

It may have started when I passed the nationwide university entry exam back in Turkey. I had to list many career interests so that, if my scores fit, I could be accepted to study in that field. So I lined up a number of jobs that interested me, and they were all related with human interaction. One of them was psychology. I have to admit that at the time my top priority was International Relations. I guess I accomplished that goal by marrying an American diplomat and immigrating to United States. Anyway, my scores matched with the fields of counseling and psychology. I had an opportunity to change majors the following year, but I absolutely fell in love with psychology. After I graduated from Ankara University, I immediately applied to the master’s program and I got in. I then passed the nationwide entry examination to become a civilian psychologist at a very prestigious Military Hospital in Turkey. I was selected as number one. After that, my career was set to go. I never looked back.

After moving to the United States, I discovered my master’s degree was not sufficient to allow me to practice as a psychologist. That did not stop me--I had to keep going as a psychologist. I enrolled in AIU/CSPP Los Angeles, and graduated with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. I completed all the requirements and was licensed by the state of California, and became a psychologist again. I was blessed again.

I have well over 10 years experience as a therapist, with most of that time being in hospital settings. I worked as a clinical psychologist at a Military Hospital in Ankara/Turkey, and in America throughout my internship and post doctoral training. I have worked at Cedars Sinai Medical Hospital, UCI Neuropsychiatry, and in the outpatient unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange. I have been in private practice since 2006. I found out that helping people “hands-on” in my private practice is my way in this field. In addition, I have taught doctoral students in psychology in the United States, and medical doctoral students in Turkey.

My extensive training and membership is listed below.

Neurofeedback Certificate
100 Hour Hypnotherapy Certificate
Neuro-Emotional Technique Certificate
